In 2022, Lore Langendries was awarded the Henry van de Velde Young Talent Award from Flanders DC. As a result, she was invited to present the solo exhibition PLEASE DO TOUCH at Z33, showcasing both new and existing work.
PLEASE DO TOUCH (2022) was an invitation to stroke, comb, cherish: the furry objects and jewelry of Lore Langendries (1988, BE) beg to be touched. Langendries works with natural materials, especially animal skins. Starting from wild patterns, imperfections and characteristics of a stiff animal skin, she creates tactile artifacts that reveal or conceal. Like a photographer, she frames our gaze and shifts our focus to hidden details and sublime, natural beauty. For Z33, she shows new and existing work in an atmospheric presentation that is an ode to the sense of touch.
Besides the solo work we've showed the firt outcome of the collaborative project 'WILD' together with Rayah Wauters.
