This piece is more than a gift; it is a symbol of respect, appreciation and connection. Crafted from wild boar hide, it tells a story of transformation—from raw material to refined form, from problem to possibility. Across Europe, wild boar overpopulation causes damage to both nature and society. Despite widespread hunting, their hides are rarely utilised.

Through an artisanal technique, the coarse material is transformed into a soft, white surface, revealing the natural rhythm of the hair pattern.

The medal embodies achievement and gratitude while promoting awareness, circularity and innovation. A meaningful gesture, rooted in nature, craftsmanship and the values of UHasselt.

Each medal is crafted from a single wild boar hide. The paper wrap enclosing the box can be torn into cards and kept as a certificate. Once opened, the box transforms. The slit that held it closed becomes a podium, placing the medal at the centre of attention.
