Survived
The wall objects show the fragment on the one hand as a survived part of the hide from which it originated, on the other as abstract shields, a protective object for humans and animals.
Treasure
Circular additions transform the oval fragments into mask-like objects. They hide the origin of the fragment and reveal a new meaning in hiding the identity behind the mask.
Transmuted
Decorative engravings in combination with the natural hair direction and hair length of the deep black springbok skin fragments create an intriguing surface in the 'Transmuted' objects. It’s a feast of black hair, light reflections and different directions focusing on the monochrome matter as material and subject.
